Partnership
The Memorial’s Board of Directors partners with and houses the organization under the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA). This link to the university is indicative of John’s love for UW-Madison and the depth of his connection to the WAA, where as a member and leader of the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board (WASB) he spent one of his most formative years. The scholarship fund itself is operated through the UW Foundation.
In 2011, members of the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board (current UW-Madison students) strengthened this partnership by assuming the existing scholarship and student enrichment committee. This committee will now be forever comprised of WASB members and honorary Lake Street Alumni who are friends of John.
As a former WASB and ACP co-founder, John W. Jung called the Wisconsin Alumni Association his home. We can think of no better place and no better organization with which to partner on this exciting endeavor. We believe that the Memorial’s ongoing investment in the education and leadership development of University of Wisconsin-Madison students, coupled with the vision and creativity of the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board, will support prospective, young campus leaders with financial need for generations to come.
In return, the John W. Jung Memorial intends to provide WASB with direct engagement opportunities with its entire Lake Street Alumni base spread across the country. Please share news of this new partnership with your family and friends. We encourage you to become more active Lake Streeters and cherish John’s memory by continuing to support the Wisconsin Alumni Association, WASB and the UW Foundation.
We believe a strong partnership such as this brings John’s legacy full-circle to the place where it was built amongst a sea of red and white rugbies more than a decade ago.
